engine ticking noise

ok since gas prices went sky high i started using regular gas then month later i can hear this ticking for sec then it stop so i went on net and search and its do to the gas low octane etc ok just in time gas prices drop down lil bit so i went to premium ticking went away now it came back and it wont go away u give gas it start to tick faster and faster as u give gas when the car idle u cant hear nathign outside but u can lil bit inside so what could couse this timing belt? ignition timing or something serious the car performs mutch better since i went to premium on regular it was slugish need more gas to get same hp there is no any side affects form this ticking but it drives me crazy ppl cant hear it inside the car but i can bc i know its there and i think obout it all the time what is caousing this engine performs beatifully but ticking is killing me [:(!]

RE: engine ticking noise

what year and model is your car
i thought all 124's are supposed to only use premium gas
if lesser i think mercedes put a precautionary anti knock where the computer would retard the ignition timing
just taking stabs, dont take my post as fact

Exhaust manifold gaskets.

I think the fuel is just a coincidence.

Work is the curse of the drinking class!

Are you really that thick? What has you being in a hurry got to do with your illiteracy? You think it takes too much time to put in the occaisional comma or period or check your spelling?

thats a weak excuse
in a hurry

how is that a tip? none of us know the answer yet, does that mean nobody can post unless they know the answer?
its called troubleshooting, if its not one thing then you try something else. you cant just get the answer out of thin air unless your a benz mechanic who deals with this stuff day in and day out(most of us arent).
escpecially with that sloppy first post how can you expect anyone to give you a simple single answer.
that first sentence was about 5 different stories

i apologize if your period key doesnt work or is missing.. upon further inspection, you dont have a single period in that post. maybe thats the reason
