Cluster noises and engine power no enough when you step on the gas

Hello good people of this forum . Please i need your expertise to help me understand this my 1982 Mercedes-Benz w123. I found out that there is a noice coming out of the cluster and within some few days now it want start in the mornings . It takes a while before it starts please what meet be the problem . Thanks.

Check the carburetor preheater circuit relay on the fenderwell. Remove the relay and put a test light on terminal 3 and 1 which should light up.

Noise from behind cluster may just be the speedometer cable needs lube.

If i put a tester on 3 and i and there is no light showing up what is the problem then and what is the solution. And if its lighting up what does it mean. Thanks sam.

Exclamation Diesel Glow Plug Testing

OOps ~ none of the above is for W123 Diesels ~ that's a gasser intake plenum heater .

The glow plug realy is farther forward on the inner fender and you need a simple test light to do basic glow plug testing .

I hope someone here can post photos, I can't seem to .

I did as you told me you told .replaced the relay pre heater thing. But now the anytime you put on the indicators to left or right the gas goes off and the car stops in the middle of the road.

Does the replacement relay schematic diagram on side of relay match your old one exactly?

Post a photo of old one and new one if you get a chance, plus the relays on the area where you are troubleshooting.
