VIN Breakdown Confusion

I just bought a 1985 300CD and manually decoding my VIN, WDBAB53A0FAXXXXXX, decodes with body style, character #5 (B) as being a long body vs (J) which is the code for the coupe. What gives?

1969 Triumph TR6
1985 Mercedes 300cd
1985 Porsche 944
1986 BMW 325e
1987 Volvo 240 Wagon
1989 BMW 325ix
1991 Volvo 240 Sedan
1992 Volvo Wagon
2015 Volvo XC60

I don't disagree with that, but the 5th character of the VIN is what denotes the body style. With my car being a coupe why does it not have the J instead yet has a B that denotes a long body car? Just curious.

A Roadster
B Long Body
F Sedan
G Sedan Long WB
H Wagon
J Coupe
K Cabriolet
M AMG

1969 Triumph TR6
1985 Mercedes 300cd
1985 Porsche 944
1986 BMW 325e
1987 Volvo 240 Wagon
1989 BMW 325ix
1991 Volvo 240 Sedan
1992 Volvo Wagon
2015 Volvo XC60

A Roadster
B Long Body
F Sedan
G Sedan Long WB
H Wagon
J Coupe
K Cabriolet
M AMG
Both incorrect.

WDBAB53A0FAXXXXXX
WDB: Daimler-Benz
A: 123.XYZ
B: Diesel
53: YZ
A: Three-point restraint system
0: Check digit
F: Registration year
A: Sindelfingen plant

No part of this VIN indicates that the vehicle is a coupe.
The initial and only means for associating this VIN with a coupe is through an internal Daimler-Benz information system where that association is made. This is demonstrated by the fact that on the window sticker for the vehicle in the "DESCRIPTION OF AUTOMOBILE SECTION" there is the word "COUPE". At the bottom of said sticker's last page, the VIN is shown.

Is there no character that denotes body style, be it coupe, sedan, long wheelbase, taxi, ?

I found this:

Character 1: World Origin, W = Germany

Character 2: Manufacture, D = Mercedes-Benz

Character 3: Division, B = Benz

Character 4: Class, A = W123

Character 5: Body B = Diesel??? I found B = Long Body. But, diesel makes more sense.

Character 6-7: Model = 53

Character 8: Restraint system, A = three point restraint system

Character 9: Check Digit, 0

Character 10: Model Year, F = 1985

Character 11: Production Plant, A = Sindelfingen

Character 12-17: Chassis Number

1969 Triumph TR6
1985 Mercedes 300cd
1985 Porsche 944
1986 BMW 325e
1987 Volvo 240 Wagon
1989 BMW 325ix
1991 Volvo 240 Sedan
1992 Volvo Wagon
2015 Volvo XC60
