RE: Dumb Question

You're just trying to make us mad. WE DON'T GET THE SMART CAR!!! Much to our major disappointment. Available in Canada and Mexico but don't even think about crossing the border.

Smart cars here are being imported by ZAP and converted by another company. From what I can tell, they're not really being sold yet (delivered). They have pushed a few out the door to keep everybody's interest up. Mercedes Benz has not elected to come to the US market although the rumors are 2007. We'll see.

RE: Dumb Question

Man I wish they'd bring them here to the US. I'd buy one tomorrow. Talk about a classic case of corporate cluelessness - I'd bet they'd sell at least as many smarts as Toyota does Prius'.

FWIW, a local used car dealer here in Boulder, CO has claimed to be one of the first Zap/Smart dealers. In July they told me they'd have cars in August. It's now September, and still no cars (which doesn't surprise me). They'd be happy to take a deposit on a Zap/Smart though (which also doesn't surprise me).
