This particular car needs help with the engine and paint.
Unfortunately I don't have the skills to restore it.
However, the beautiful interior and lack of rust is what got me interested in the first place.
It's surprisingly clean inside without much of the wear on the carpet and leather you'd expect for a car it's age.
Half of the time and with a little starting fluid, it'll start up and move on it's own. The engine is quiet and smooth. Oil pressure comes up quickly. New spark plugs are installed. I have gotten it to shift through at least third gear. I have no reason to suspect transmission problems. It has the added traction control feature "ASR" which I think might be causing issues with throttle control. This is a rare feature and documentation on it seems hard to find.
I originally bought the car with the intention to use it as my daily driver but I can't seem to sort out an issue with the engine bogging down. I have replaced one fuel pump and filter, the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel distributor diaphragm. I have checked the spark timing to be accurate but the RPM gauge shows zero. Maybe there's a quick fix for this engine that I just don't see. I was never trained to be a mechanic.
The odometer in the picture shows 280085 miles but that's just because I messed with it as a joke while repairing it. I got the car with approximately 185k and the odometer didn't work during my 1 mile test drive.
Please contact me to check it out. I can also send video of the engine starting and idling.
