Would prefer 17 inch et35-40 in a repairable condition or better. Looking to get the centers painted black in classic hammer fashion.
Look forward to hearing from potential sellers.
I don't believe I've heard of 17" Aero I wheels with et35-40. To the best of my knowledge the 17" versions came in two flavors, ET11 for the 126 crowd, and et28 for 124's and similar. I'm attaching a French Mercedes chart showing 124 option wheels. I also turned it into a PDF that is better for reading.
AMG also offered a spacer kit for mounting ET28's on 124's (non 500E's).
Let me see if I can find some reference material in my files for you.
These 17" Aero I wheels are all 8" wide, no matter what the ET is. The front tires will rub, You would need to modify the wheel wells as seen in the attachment, fender rolling is a minimum requirement. Even the rear tires will be problematic for rubbing. On non-500e models I believe front wheels should be no wider than 7- 1/2 inches to reduce the rubbing problems, (my personal preference).
Right now I'm running the 16" version on my 94 E420, (7 1/2 x 16 et40 I believe, a w190 wheel option), and they fit and ride perfectly. Personally I believe these 16" wheels are the best match for the 124's.
Here is a set of 16's for sale on eBay, these would fit your car perfectly, and would be my choice for a non-500E model. (500E's have wide wheels wells and would take the 17" Aero I et28's without any mods needed).
I also have a spare set of 16's and I have one set of 17's in et28 in the shed I might part with. But your so far away the shipping would be outrageous I would think.
Just edited in a picture of my E420 with the 16" Aero I's, they are fully polished instead of paint.
This will give somewhat of an idea what they would look like on your 124.
