FS : 91 190e 2.6L Manual

Up for sale is my 1991 Mercedes Benz 190e. This w201 has the 2.6L inline six-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission, factory installed. Mileage is at about 215400k and has many more miles in its future if taken care of. Rust-free, garaged for most of its life, and seldom driven in bad weather. Two previous owners were in the same family; this car was passed down to a nephew of the original owner.

The car has been cared for and worked on by me, and much work has been done to turn this into a fun, reliable, mechanically sound driver. I've mostly used this car as a weekend car and in fair weather regularly go on 2-5 hour drives out of the city with no hesitation. I just drove to Maryland where I purchased another 190e, which is the reason I'm selling this one. I've owned this car since May 2016 and was planning to restore and mildly modify it, but owning multiple of the same car in NYC makes no sense...to my wife. The car does have some minor issues that can be resolved as it is driven, nothing that affects reliability and fun factor, but issues that should be addressed.

Highlights:
New Bosch fuel pumps, fuel filter, & accumulator
New spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor
New driveshaft flex discs & center bearing
New front control arm ball-joints
New Bilstein B4 shocks front & rear w/ new OEM rear springs
New OEM Mercedes brake-rotors and pads, front & rear
New valve-stem seals & valve cover gasket
New OEM clutch master cylinder
15x7 Sportline edition rims with Dunlops w/ ~75% tread left
All fluids flushed and renewed
Last country/hwy drive: 25.18mpg
+ more

Issues:
Check engine light due to an exhaust leak that is affecting the O2 sensor at idle and low RPM (I have extensive notes on testing/diagnosis)
Rear differential needs a lash adjustment to eliminate very slight play
Heater/AC blower motor non operational & no AC charge (AC blew cold when I first purchased it)
Shifter arm bushings could use a replacement to improve shifting
Various dings and dents in body, please look closely at pictures
Engine consumes about a quart of oil every 1000 miles, common for this engine

Asking $4000 or best offer. Car is located in Brooklyn, NY. Id be willing to drive a little to show and as an excuse to go on a drive and shoot the breeze. Very willing to negotiate for MBZ & 190e enthusiasts.

Are you the lucky person who bought that 93 Sportline 5spd near Baltimore? I had to summon up all the person self-restraint possible not to buy that one.

Your car looks well maintained. GLWS!

Thanks ds! I did manage to pick that one up. I tried summoning self restraint but failed, so now I have to let one go sadly.
