I'll do some more trial runs. I recall test driving a 2018 E and it found and parked perpendicularly on the dealer lot. I'll keep experimenting - it's kind of fun.

If you remotely unlock it and do not open anything, it will lock itself again (probably designed for an accidental push of "unlock").
I believe that is a 30 second limit where the vehicle rearms if no doors/trunk are opened. That's been a Benz feature for a while. The feature I am talking about may not exist. However, when I first got the car a couple months ago, every time I parked in my garage and walked away, the car would self lock and self arm after some time. I never timed it but it bothered both me and my wife. Our concern was that with this feature, the key could be accidentally locked in the car. So after reading the gigantic manual, I used the dash SETTING options to disable what I thought was that feature. That action did disable that feature. Now, I am just curious because it did not make sense to me, to have such a feature. Believe me, it was there. Maybe it was a rogue electronics, who knows.
