I couldn't believe that R that I sat in. It had fairly elaborate seats, but when I moved the driver's seat all the way back, I still didn't have enough leg room...by at least three inches. Then I found out how goofy their V6 is, and dropped the whole idea.
Also that stupid handle (for the passenger) on the centre console/dash

Absolutely. And it's not even useful as a handle, so now its only purpose is to isolate the passenger from the rest of the interior. I hate cars that do that. My current Corvette...a C4, is like that (so is the C7) and I'm sick of it. It's like a giant "middle finger" to your passenger and one of the things that started me looking at the SL and the 911. If a car seats two, it should be comfortable and welcoming to both people. JMO...

I am 6'3" and in a good shape, I have no problems fitting inside my F-type. It isn't as roomy as SL, no doubt, but it isn't cramped.

F-type, unlike SL, is a sports car. That handle sees a lot of use when you take passengers on the track. That why it is there.
