Having a little play with some ebay mods !

I've never been a fan of the big in your face star that Mercedes have adopted in recent years, preferring the more less blingy look.

So I have bought a couple of eBay items to have a bit of fun, all black grille and to match my modified rear lights with the black band I've added an Aston Martin style rear spoiler painted to the same Obsidian RAL black as the car.

P.S. next week i'm getting a modified exhaust set up with an ECU map too so the care sounds sweeter! will see how it turns out !

Have a good weekend !

That looks awful to me, but "the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", of course.

I would have suggested a retrofit of the rocker covers and front and rear bumper covers that comprised the Sports Package. It wasn't until I recently got an SL55 that I realized how much better-looking it is over my stock SL500.

I like it. My favorite the blacked out front grill.

While there are going to be different opinions on the grille and spoiler, I trust that disdain for the "AMG" badge is universal.

The AMG badge I chose as matt black because again I am not that keen on being too showy, the AMG is a nod to the AMG speedshift gearbox and ECU tune that my car luckily came with from factory, asked for by the original owner.

The black grille is quite common in the UK, the likes of Jag, Range Rover, BMW's often have this modification.

thanks

An opinion is an opinion so here are mine. Loose the tinted windows. These cars were designed to look airy and open either with the hood open or closed. Tinting the windows confuses that look.
While on the subject of tinting the tinting on your backup lamps is too wide. It makes the SLs boot look thick and heavy. As for your spoiler, your spoiler looks like it belongs there - thumbs up.
Like 99 said in his quoted post -skip the AMG logo. Want to keep admirer's of your car wondering what powers the beast? Make/letter your car an SL5.0 (ebay has tons of lettering kits available). Even with interesting internal mods you know it isn't an AMG so why bother.
SL5.0 looks discrete on the rear deck (chrome or blacked out) and to the curious onlooker it says that your Mercedes must be one of those very rare and hugely powerful tuner SLs. Bonus - you've told the truth .
Never forget that your car is your car and as long as it brings you pleasure, regardless of any modifications you thought it needed, everything is just fine. Enjoy it

The car came tinted, it looks darker in the photo.
The rear tint is to the same dims as the AMG rear, lights so strange why it looks wider?

Thanks
