Radar tell tale light installation

I have installed my escort external radar warning light behind my instrument bezel (see the mounting pictures) and made a viewing hole in my line of sight between the speed gauge and the RPM gauge.

The light itself was to bright at night so I used a shading film on the led bulb to reduce the glare.

Now I can clearly see it at night or during day light so even with the sound of the detector turned of there an easy to observe light color change that is within my normal line of sight when driving.

I get this from e-Bay
Escort Direct-Wired Smart Cord-Mute Button-Selectable R or B Warning Alert(EP01

and fabricate the rest myself

Nicely done! Thanks for sharing.
Upon further observation, I think your car is also the only S55 I've ever seen with almost a full tank of fuel!

When driven at higher speeds it's a natural to stay more focused on the road ahead with this tell tale constantly in the line of sight I find my reaction time to my (right foot) to be instant when the light blinks.

As the light mounting location is at least 1/2" behind the hole I created (2.7mm) in the instrument bezel even with the top down you can see it in bright sunlight, kind of the light that is mounted at the end of a dark tunnel and that's all you can see.

Full tank = an acquired habit to fill it up when the tank is half full before I park it = less condensate in the tank and ready to drive anytime the beast calls to be exercised!
