SLK Damaged SAM Modules

Hi,

My SLK 200 has developed a fault where the car will not start, despite a new battery. The engine will not turn over, and I get messages such as "Anti theft protection" and "Restraint System......" in the control panel.
The car has been sent to an electronics specialist, and they say two SAM modules are not communicating and are 'Fried'. They are quoting 1500 to replace these, but say this will possibly not fix all the problems.

Is this something that can happen? Or is normal? I am concerned that the car has been running fine, and all of a sudden stops working like this.

Thanks for any help or advice on what I should do.

To determine what's broken the must have done a scan. Can you get a report with the error codes?
It's not impossible but at least unlikely that 2 modules fail at the same time.

Hi Paul600600,

Thanks for your response.

I have added the images of the scan as sent to me by the specialists.
I hope these give a clue as to the extent of the problem.

Thanks
