Exclamation SLK280 stalling whilst driving - then starting up again 2 seconds later!

Twice in the past month, driving at speed, my SLK 280 has just completely shut down. When this happens, it's only for 2 seconds, then whilst the car careers forward with momentum alone, it just fires up again, as if it's never happened. OK, yeah, it's not stopping me moving, but it feels very dangerous. Once it happened at night in traffic and I had no lights, power steering - everything off - just for those 2 seconds. Does anybody have any experience of this? (I know that my EML is showing and the code reading indicates the thermostat isn't faulty, so I'm replacing that at the weekend. However, I'm not convinced that that will fix this issue.)

That's dangerous. Take it to the dealer ASAP!
