Won't start unless in Neutral

OK, got the speed sensor code for my 2006 350slk. Got f'd with the 722.9 tranny. Pulled conductor plate and sent off for service. Replaced with fluid and filter and reprogrammed plate. POW! starter burns out on 1st try and fries fuse. Replaced both. Now it wont start unless in Neutral. Got the codes cleared. Only code that shows is MAF. BS because its new.

Any suggestions? Dealer says no neutral safety switch anymore. Now it is part of the shifter mechanism. Can replace for 142.00. Should I do that? Is NSS bs or true? When removing plate I disconnected 2 o2 sensors, dropped the exhaust( Part of starter replacement) and unhooked the round electronic plug to the tranny. Is there another cable from the shifter to the tranny? In pictures I see one from the shifter mech running back like a tail. Could this be the cluprit? I do not remember another cord. Thanks

Next time bring champagne and roses to get some attention...LOL
A couple of issues: The forum is a bit slow and be patient. We need people with more problems to post to have enough synergy to respond to other one's issues. Next, your problem sounds like it needs a real diagnosis by a professional. I don't think it's a common issue with the car.
