EPC or how to find part numbers

I've seen this mentioned many times in the forum but thought I'd post for new members and those in need.

EPC is the oficial factory parts site and is available free with free 1 year renewable subscriptions. Sometimes you have to do a lot of searching to find an item as the indexing is not always easy to figure out. You can enter your VIN which helps get you to the correct parts drawings. I use it often to get part numbers and then call my local MB dealer for availability and price.

Try it!

Be as nervous as you like. They use the credit card to verify the address since the "free" part is only to US residents (or at least those with a US address to which a credit card is associated).

Countless people have used it for many years without a security issue or being charged, myself included.

Would you feel okay if it was $10 a year and you gave them the CC number? Then why not if it's free?

If you're nervous, be nervous. You just won't have EPC access.

Alright I joined. But it's not a very user friendly program. Definitely not intuitive.

I totally agree with the above. The software is apparently from Snap-On which makes it all the more surprising.
Take the time initially to go through each category including the different subcategories on the top right. IF you can remember any of it I'll be surprised. but it will give you a feel for how the site is organized.

Play around with it for awhile. it will become a little more user friendly that way. Plus there is sort of a FAQ section where you can scroll through some items to see what all it can do for you.

The software is made in Germany for Mercedes-Benz DBAG and is distributed in the US by snap-on
