illumination for doorsills - source?

Hi all

(I posted in the Buy/Sell forum already a few weeks ago and haven't had a reply, so please forgive me if I'm breaking some forum rule.)

I have those blue illuminated AMG doorsills and my passenger side one went out a few months ago. It seems the faulty part is the Visio brand IT-9375-12 EL driver. Now I've been looking online and on-island for MONTHS and can't find anyone that sells these. I contacted hbmcanada.com and they'll only sell in boxes of hundreds and they won't ship to Maui even if I bought a box of 100. I als contacted soundsmart.com.au and received no reply.

This is the part i'm babbling about (no reply from HK either):

Do any of you have these installed? Where do you get replacements? Do you know of a suitable substitute? Can I do anything to get around this (other than de-comissioning my other panel)?

I know this is not a big problem, but it's really bugging me having just one side illuminated. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Haqve you tried Radio Shack? They have access to a wealth of electronic devises, you just have to find a smart and commited salesman to help you.

Try running the two El panels in parallel off the one good inverter.

Hey, thanks Dick B. - I'll try that this weekend.

Jeff K - sorry, the Radio Shack on Maui didn't have the part (or the committed salesperson). I finally heard back from the HK company and they are willing to ship out a BOX of the inverters to me. I'll probably keep a couple for back-up but if anyone you know is looking for IT-9375-12 inverters, let me know, I'll have a 100 of them soon.

Thanks again guys

IT-9375-12 EL Driver

Tan Q,

Did you ever receive the box of El Drivers? If you did, how much do you want for them, with shipping to Michigan? As I am very interested in purchasing them off you....

Thanks,
Scott

I had the same issue, turns out the transformer was bad, so I bought it off ebay, search for something like EL invertor and similar terms. I actually have one with me sitting right here. I bought a pair and did not get time to replace it and so gave it to the new owner to replace it himself.

Would you still happen to have these EL drivers? Looking for 2 new ones to replace what I have and I can't find anything.

Thanks

Jim
