Some praise for Gaston and Auto Class

Auto Class offered me the best price on my new EVO II wheels. UPS made the delivery at night, and I glanced at the boxes and they looked O.K.. I figured that they couldn't have done much damage to an alloy wheel. After UPS left I opened the boxes and found that one of the wheels was dinged in several places around the rim. I immediately called Gaston, and after a brief discussion he told me he would send me a new wheel. He also said that he would make arrangements for the old wheel to be picked up so I would not have to pay shipping. My new wheel has just arrived. Auto Class and Gaston seem to know how to put the customer first. Some of the MB dealerships could learn some lessons from them. Auto Class could have given me a major hassle about this situation, but Gaston was very cooperative. I did later inspect the box and found some "hanging chads" (yes they were shipped from Florida). The wheel was just in the original MB box without any protection, so it looked like it was damaged during shipment. I recently saw some film of several airline employees playing basketball with packages as they were thrown on a cart. You never know what gorilla is going to be throwing your package around, and apparently they can find a way to damage a metal alloy. I suggest that you have all packages shipped to you marked "Fragile" no matter how durable the product you purchase seems to be.
Talking about the EVO II wheels...

On Friday last week I made a great deal at Mercedes Benz Altteile-Center www.mbatc.de.

I bought a set of 4 EVO II wheels 8.5 x 17" for my E500 in excelent condition incl. wintertires. The winter tires profile is 2mm off compared to new ones and the dimension 245/50 17"!!!

I bought it (wheels and tires) for DM1,500!!!!! - that´s less than $700!
