R129 Softtop ecu GEN I and GEN II Compatibility

Hi

I need some informations please.

My friend gave me a R129 Softtop Ecu GEN II. A129 820 24 26

I have a R129 GEN I of 1991 with fully operational Softop. ECU : A129 820 00 97

I set the GEN II Ecu on my car, the Windows and the roll bar works fine, but not Soft top movements.

Is the GEN II ECU compatible with GEN I Cars ?

Thanks a lot for your Help.

My 2 cents? Get the same GEN I part number.

I don't know what a "GEN II" controller is. But all you need to know is that any controller which has three connectors should work with your car, and all compatible controllers should function identically.

I recently replaced the controller on my 98 SL500 (two connector) however I had to get a Star system to clear a code.
