Bad fuse made me look like an idiot.

Soooo...........

I drove the SL600 to work yesterday. No problems. Get in the car to head home, I noticed the roll bar light, the ADS light, ARS light, and ABS light were all on. I was a little concerned, but, I figured out I would check it out when I get home. The ARS and ABS light have been coming on once I start rolling about 10 mph or so. I had been chalking that up to the fact the guy I bought the car from had one size larger rear tires, or one of the wheel speed sensors was dead. But now there were on from the beginning.

So i start driving, about 5 min go by and the temp gauge is reading 40. Now im in panic thinking the thermostat is stuck closed. Not wanting to take any chances, I called AAA and had the car towed home.

Got it home, popped the thermostat out, and its just fine. So just for giggles I checked the fusebox, and wouldnt you know, one of those 25 year old crap fuses finally disintegrated all the way thru. Put a new fuse in, and all the lights went away and the temp gauge was working again.

I have no idea how that one fuse causes so much chaos on the gauges, but it does.

I can later on today.

I can tell you it was the labeled instrument cluster in the engine bay fuse box.
