98 SL500 Window clunks at bottom

My 98 SL500 had a windows clunk when lowering them. I replaced both regulators and that fixed the issue however after two months the drivers side is doing it again, a loud clunk when window hits bottom, the passenger side is fine. What can be the problem, did something break or fall off?

So after combing through hundreds of posts I read about an adjustment for the clunk and sure enough that was the problem. All fixed now.

Can you share the post or the steps you took to fix the clunk? I have a 1998 with the same issue. Thanks!

Take off door panel and about half way up the door pull back the plastic and in the area of the rivets there is a large T30 Torx bolt going through a slot on the regulator. Raise the window and loosen the bolt then drag it to the rear of the door, you need to tighten it pretty good. Then check the auto window when down see if you can get it so it's still in the weather strip when all the way down.

Here is a pic of the bolt. Just to the left of the gold colored panel bracket.
