Saying "Good bye" to my SL320

Today is kind of a sad day for me, saying Good Bye to my SL320... It is however, staying with in the family - signing the title off to my younger brother.

Last year his same 744 SL320 was totaled by a careless driver

I don't really need to sell mine, but it is going to a good home, he is as much of an addict and auto enthusiast as I am. So this is his "new car" as of tonight:

Going to miss it, but honestly, running out of space in the driveway, and it is time to attend to SL500 full force...

Regards,
D

Sorry, what a waste. Why can't people see other cars? (rhetorical)

Damn that's a shame...beauty of a car. How much would a well-done repair cost?

Are those wheels 19", is it lowered? They look great. I have 17" on my 94 SL320 and HR springs but yours fill the wheel wells.

His car was a total loss, frame damage, certainly was not worth repairing it. The insurance was very fair to him. A year later, he just couldn't "not" have another R129. Mine is well sorted out, everything works, all new fluids, brakes, very nice sound system... Just get in and drive. He is bringing his own wheels and tires though. Those black Rotec wheels are staying with me.

D

John, yep, lowered, wheels - those are 18x8.5 et32 front (245/40/18) and 18x9.5 et25 rear (275/35/18). I remember your black setup on SL320 (Bremmer???), looks great too!

D

Yeah Bremmer. The car lives with my son in Carson City NV now and it's old enough to have classic plates so we have to put stock wheels on it to pass inspection I'm going to look at black 18s to put back on, I imagine you don't have inside rubbing in front with the 32ET? Sucking the wide tires in will help the car not to push in the corners

At first glance I thought your SL320 got totaled as well, but I see you're just signing yours over to your brother. That's a good brother.

Those anthracite/graphite AMG Aeros look really good on your red SL btw.

Me too, when looked at the first photo… glad it's just going to new home. Nice R129 btw, hope your brother appreciates what he's getting.
