I'm not sold on it yet. The first thing I need to do is to talk to the service manager at my local MB dealer.Get the straight scoop on the vehicle. He has always been straightforward with me.
If he gives it the thumbs up, I'll look for one.
Seems most of them are located in Florida and are coming off of leases, so that's good.
I'm retiring in 3-5 years, so I won't be working on cars after that. Don't have much time as it is right now. So, I'm thinking get in and go would be nice, with the exception of routine maintenance.

Make sure any recalls have been fixed on whatever you get! a lot of these newer cars are smartphone's on wheels! you should see my neighbors newer Lexus, so ugly! that huge cow catcher grill WTF?, has all the bell's and whistles, he has no clue or taste in cars , so much technology mind boggling! my wife and I make fun of other new cars on the road all the time lol, I've always like having something different than everyone else on the road, would miss that, but would not miss parking it in a lot and worrying about shopping cart dings!

Would definitely get a PPI from a dealer and check for any recalls.
Those Lexus front ends? I call them the Darth Vader grills.
I also like to drive something a little different. I've seen a few E350 convertibles in my area, but not one in the color I'm looking at.

I drove the LC500 for a week before it came to market (it's my job) - that thing is the real deal. Looks great, sounds mean (I had the V8 not the hybrid), and goes like heck.

Would still rather buy a nicely depreciated V12 - SL600 (or 65) for about a third of the price.

My golfing bud had one of these E350's convertibles in red purchased new , it was a beautiful car and the red was outstanding, he never had any issue other than complaining about the dealer service charges. He recently sold it because he wanted something he could drive in the winter but every day he looks at my red SL and glazes over..hehehe

Back from vacation. No more sleeping late everyday. Reality will slap me in the face when my alarm goes of at 5:15 tomorrow morning.
I have been thinking about this- do I want to give up my beloved SL that I have spent all of this time money and effort on? Yes, it's been a labor of love. Most of the time.
A modern care would be nice, but I would miss the 5.0L engine.
And, I've always wanted a 911.
I guess I better think about it some more.
Feel free to chime in.

Those gigantic grilles are absolutely hideous. If someone gave me a car with that horrid look for free, I'd stash it in storage, and sell it as quickly as possible.

Whoever dreamed up the idea of having such enormous grilles on cars ought to be tarred and feathered.

I upset a Lexus owner when we both parked side by side at a local supermarket.
He said something like " be careful your doors don't touch my car"!

I said very loudly to my wife that the man with the Toyota next to us, is asking that we be careful.
He said "It's a Lexus", I said, no, it's just another Toyota

Got a 911 turbo. A 996 cab w auto would be my call, 35 kish cause the cabs and autos are unloved. Metzger motor, no ims issue. No way would I touch a modern mb bmw etc, all parts are coded etc making non dealer tepsir a hassle. If you diy d before retirement you ll have more time now, speaking from experience.
If you’re bored yeah let it go but for everyday use I enjoy my sl 600 as much ad the 911, at less risk.

I knew there was a reason I retired and kept the car.
