D, you never sieze to amaze me. That is one big project. I bet you it will come out great. Keep us posted and show the finished product. Let me know what do you use to saw the peices together, are you using the sewing machine or by hand ?
You are too kind, Sir, I'm just a guy who is willing to try anything, at least once
Sawing - no my friend, purchased pre-fabed ready to install leather skin specifically sawn for pre-face lift R129.
Original untreated and neglected leather dried up, and ripped beyond repair on the forward center (very typical)
New covering arrived today, soft, pliable and brand new!
It took about 1.5 hours for the base/bottom, but If I had to do it again, now that I've done it an know where to pull/push/tuck and stretch, could probably do each bottom in less than an hour.
Leather would need to relax a little, will steam it tomorrow, will massage it a little for flawless fit then condition and good to go!
Very happy with results, new, supple beautiful leather instead of the mummified original skins!
Today, with confidence gained from this forum, I changed my cabin air filter. The (Canadian) dealer wanted $161 JUST for the filter. I bought one at a local parts store for $25 and changed it myself
That is a hefty fee, $161 not installed??? Even if it was installed, $161, ok, even with profit on the filter, an hour charge? Come on!!!
