Thumbs up

Took the drive door card off (panel). Some one in the past had just pulled it apart breaking half the mounts. they even pulled off the section that fits in the 5 brackets on the door. JB weld to the rescue! Rebuilt all the broken mounting points, installed new door speakers. It is not prefect but it looks 100% better (seventeen years of use) and now when I close the door the panel does not pull away from the door.

It's one thing on my checklist to make mine 100%.

Saturday projects...

Not really projects, but little things that needed doing...
New Cabin Air Filter
Bumper interim repairs- had to add a bit of structure with some aluminum angle I had lying around. I cut pieces and riveted them in place significantly sturdying the stretched and torn plastic. I added two steel plates extending from the underbody shield mounts to hold the cover up where it belongs (plastic originals long gone/broken off).
...and drive!

I have a question - maybe someone can help me out. I was looking through the maintnance records, from the previous owner, for my SL and I came accross this. Can anyone tell me what this is? On top was the name of the original owners company that I blocked.

I can tell you it is cool as hell, that's what it is...
Seriously though, a clearer picture would help.

No turning back now... Time to renew the tired leather skins, disassembled the cushions on SL500 project:

I must admit, I appreciate this car more and more every time I tackle something I have not done before, and learn something new every time. It is a project where every dollar counts (because it needs so much)... However, doing most everything in my own garage, one thing at a time, no rush - kinda therapeutic and rewarding!

Regards,
D
