Trade: E55 AMG for your R129 SL500 or SL600

Hey guys,

I am thinking about changing to a convirtable and I know the R129 is a much slower car compared to an E55 AMG but I was always attracted to the style. I am looking for an 00-02 SL500 or SL600 for a trade for my 2000 E55 AMG. my E55 has lots of rare factory options and also lots of nice tasteful accessories that will be included free with the trade. Preferably Arizona and Southern California residents only (basically anything close to southern arizona. If interested PM me. thanks

here is a link to the thread.

Hi OmeyHomey I am guessing your E55 is the 367 BHPs (in EU form) so it will not be that much faster compared to the SL 500 (306 BHPs EU form) or the SL 600 (394 BHPs EU form) so you will not be at a great loss of pace.
What I can tell you about the R129 is that beside the wonderful figure you have a substance of a chassis so you will be having great fun to drive and probably even more fun than your E55.

Good luck for your new purchase.

Cheers.

E55 is almost a second quicker to 60 than SL500; that's because it weighs several hunded pounds less in addition to the high HP.

But I think that trading a 2001 R129 is a little bit of a dear price to pay for a 2000 E55. I think you can get a 2000 E55 for around $25,000 or less. I think the R129 would be closer to $30,000.
