coolant flush

I've been dealing with a rising temp problem. Whenever I sat in traffic in hot weather the temp would rise to the 212 degree area and the electric fan did not seem to help. I did a flush with a product called Thermo-Cure,which is non-acidic. I'mnot sure how this works but it had great reviews. I ran it for about a week and when I drained it,it was nasty smelling and black..Took about five flushes for it to clear up. I have to wait till Friday to get a new radiator drain plug washer. So, right now I'm running water with some Royal Purple Ice for lube. Has definitely helped the temp. Runs a tad cooler and stopped in traffic only rises to like 185 190deg. But we'll see how it does when I put the 50/50 mix in..I never realized that water cools better than anti-freeze until this week.. Learn something new every day.....
