'86, 560SL shift too early, kickdown not work

Greetings from Helsinki, Finland
and I am really sorry:
- for my English
- not introduce myself (i'm really hurry just now)
- first post only to get advices

long story shortly (Finnish style)
I had oil leak which is caused crankcase rear seal, I used cheap mechanic who changed the seal.

Driving to home i noticed
- noise somewhere under the car like 'tshirk, tshirk..'
- Kickdown does not work
- Transmission change quite early to bigger gear between 2000 - 2500 rpm

What I should check first (I have to do checking myself, mechanic is not achievable for many days)

thank you very much!

P.S no oil leak anymore

Check the Bowden cable. It connects from the throttle linkage to the transmission. Sounds like your cheap mechanic may have not reattached it or perhaps damaged it.

Nobody gets out of this life alive.
