Help stray vacuum line

Considering buying this 1987 SL, 63,000 miles. Runs great, shifts great, overall pretty clean condition.
Does have a minor idle shake, not severe enough to bother tach or be a problem when shifting into gear or out of gear, or coming to a breaking stop. Found this stray vacuum line under air cleaner, passenger rear corner of cleaner. I suspect this could be the issue. Not my car yet so I don't want to pull the air cleaner. Can anyone tell where the plugs into? See picture attached.
Thanks

That hose connects to the big black hose on the air cleaner. It's part of a safety system designed to shuttle leaking gas from the KEJet system diapragms into the engine where it's safely burned.

If you remove the air cleaner, you'll find a connection bit on the back of the side to stick him into.

Thanks for the tip. Will check out in the AM. Hope this caused the slight rough idle.

okyoureabeast,
One more question...Does that mean there may be liquid gas leaking out of this plastic line? Or is it just vapors? In any event, is it dangerous to run with it not connected. ie fire hazard??
thanks

Here's a pic of the hose beast was talking about

In all honesty I don't think that that one line would cause what you are experiencing. Be prepared to find more leaks...that's part of the SL game. Do a search for "Italian Tune-up" should you buy the car. A long spirited drive cures many problems.

No it's a safety precaution in case they do leak. Which they rarely do.

And it won't be the cause of your rough idle.
