Thank you all for the warm welcome!

edit. I tried to multi-quote earlier without success (obviously). Is that not an option for the free membership?

Welcome Sindbad!!

Great looking car. This forum is the only reason my restoration has moved along as fast as it has - everyone here has provided support, both encouragement and practical, it's now one of my favorite places to 'hang out' - you're definitely among friends here!

Thanks - I was meaning to keep a low profile here and you blew my cover! Nice to see you here too Hijak!

And for the others here - yes, I do have a collection of classic/vintage wristwatches too. I do like well designed technical things. Anything technical that can be tinkered with.

First off, sorry to blow your cover...but wow, the paint on your 107 looks great. Those higher resolution pictures on OF really show off the improvement after the paint correction! Also have to say that red interior looks stunning!!! Love my color combination but have to admit I’m a little jealous of that white with red combo.

Haha! No worries.

Yes - the polishing of the paint came out very nice (not done by me). I put in some hours on the interior myself though. A days worth.

Before and after pics of the driver seat. After-pic before applying non gloss UV-protection though. With it the colour deepened a lot (not darker but richer).

I have no idea - it is a rubber mat (drivers side only) that the vintage MB mechanic forgot there while doing some work on it during this winter. I pointed it out to him but he did not want it back. It fits like a glove though - it must be a good one. I will check if there is any identification on it. I do have old original MB rubber mats for both sides - that came with the car. They are heavy as lead (not joking!).

I am not going to use any of these mats when I get new textile inlay mats done (in red). My wife is an upholsterer and it is an easy job for her to make them. The difficult part is getting her to do them - as she has too much paying jobs in line. My job seems to be put further in the future all the time. Maybe it has something to do with my currency...

Thank you for info. As far as your wife getting to your mats, sounds like you need to increase the “incentives” a bit!

Hey - I am 55 years old! Taking this further probably gets this thread over to the Cabaret section...

Instead of "incentives" - I am more thinking - a male version of Lysistrate.
