Very nice! Signal Red is my favorite!

Johnny van Bergen 05-05-2019 06:20 AM

Thanks

It look great from a distance, but i discovered that it used to be brown, and the red paintjob was done really bad.
It shows cracks and orangepeal (is that a word ? ) and one day it will need some looking in to...
But enough other stuff to be done, like the seats, carpets, softtop and all the well-known things.

Still,very happy with it !

So, it looks good from 15 feet. That's all that counts. Nice car. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum.

Wet blanket time. Do you know if the timing chain system has been converted to dual row? If not has it been serviced lately? Guides and tensioner should be checked either way.

Johnny van Bergen 05-05-2019 11:34 AM

Tnx all.

It had a dual when i got it,luckely. All is checked.

Upcoming things are the subframe bushings, steering play and the funny shifting when the tranny is cold.
Oh,and i'll change the brake fluid before i go drive in the alps :) .

Welcome, Johnnie! Very nice looking SL. Do you happen to be a member of the Nederlands R107 Club? I occasionally visit their website in order to view pics, or vids of their club trips. They seem to be a very active club, and for R/C107s only.

You mentioned the hailstorm that occurred in your area yesterday. I watched yesterday's race at Spa Belgium on T.V.. They had a few full course "yellows", and finally red flagged the race near the end due to periods of heavy snow, sleet, and hail during the race. That was amazing to see in May.
