What have you done to your R107, TODAY ...

Be interesting to know whats being done to all the R107s on here.
Lets post a comment here when you do something each day so we will know what you are up to.

TODAY, I washed, detailed, and vacuum the interior on both Angel (380SL) and Sunshine (560SL) this morning.
Also installed Paracord to use as an emergency pull cord to open the Soft Top cover if it gets stuck.

(Uploaded pictures - all inside garage as it started raining right after I finished)

Great idea, Carl. Over this past weekend I replaced the engine mounts (an exercise in patience), front subframe bushings, rear differential mount (discovered a bushing there too, which I'll replace), and the right side door trim bezel (triangle) for the one that the p/o had "reattached" by filling it with black rubber adhesive after breaking off the tabs. I'm still waiting for the transmission mount that I ordered.

Today I spent some time removing a/c clutch assemblies from two compressors so that I can mate the good clutch assembly with the good compressor, and reinstall in... I still need to come up with a name for her.

Nothing.
We have been apart for 3-1/2 months, soon to be reunited.
I will lavish her with benign neglect as usual.

This weekend I changed the oil on both Samson and Delilah. I realized I hadn't changed the oil in 1 and 1/2 years. I also realized I only had about 500 miles on the oil. That has to change.

Technically did this yesterday.

Took the car cover off after a long winter slumber. Quick check of fluids. Twist of the key. 10 seconds for the fuel system to charge and fired up on second revolution. Totally disappointed as normally starts up with a bump of the key. It's only been sitting unused for 4+ months. What a piece of crap.

Then this junk heap carved up the nearest Colorado canyon road like it owned it. Totally on song without a stumble throughout the rev band. Thumbs up from more than a few drivers heading the other way.

What's the fun of having a car that doesn't breakdown? Where is the challenge of ownership?

Thinking i need to get another Jag. Now that's a car you can love to hate. Damn.

Started last night, finished this morning. Re-glued the vanity mirror in the visor, which had been working its way loose for a while. Now that I've been driving around top-down I was worried the wind might catch it and rip it off. Used a couple vice clamps with a backer board on the soft underside so as not to crush/deform the foam. Now it fits snug as a bug in a rug!

Haven’t had much time to do anything with the car lately; plus didn’t really want to take it out anyway due to the tree pollen that turns everything green. What you see in the picture coating the hood and fender tops is not dust but pollen that accumulated while I had the garage door open for a couple hours mounting a new set of eye balls. Thank you @cwmoser .

Now that you got the visor fixed you need to get yourself some window frame pads (forgot what the official name is - old age).

That was a quick install of the Euro headlamps.
Nice meeting with you last week.
Glad you like them.
It does transform the looks especially with Euro bumpers.

Carl, what is the coral red color of your SL called? I have only seen this color on a 107 once in person, and really liked it. It's unique, and striking.

RLT61, congrats on your euro headlights. They look great with your euro bumpers.
