The shame and embarrassment ... yep.
I was frustrated with removing the Tie Rod on the other SL that I didn't think and just assumed it had to be something esoteric.
That and age.

Should keep the thread going and re-name to:

What stoopid things have you posted in the past?

I'll go first:

Lots. 28,000+ of lots.

Hey, don't feel too bad, I spent in excess of an hour trying to figure out why the passenger window on my S2000 quit working. Even stopped by an auto parts store to buy new fuses only to realize I hit the power window lock out switch by accident.

Call this thread hey, don't feel too bad...

My car died unexpectedly and fortunately I was able to roll onto the off-ramp. I waited a long time for the flatbed tow to arrive; explaining to every tenth kind-hearted soul exiting the interstate that I did not need their help. I finally was towed home close to midnight on the insurance so all it cost me was the tip and a day of idle ramp time. After much diagnosis I found the fuse that I just installed on the electronic ignition had blown, on replacing it the car started right up. Of course I had extra fuses in the glovebox.

Dugald, you have enough age and wisdom to be spot on with the issue I had
