I'm considering ordering the bumpers for my 76 slc. I've been Facebook messaging with Helen Nguyen from Ptt and frequently posts on an sl Facebook group. Anybody dealt with her?
Also, I read through ykas thread. I know I need to order genuine Mercedes rubber strip. Anyone have part #? I looked but found for us bumpers.
Anything else I need to buy to set up these bumpers?
Thanks all.

No problems.

I bought a set from "bumperautomobile.com" in December 2018. They took about four weeks to arrive. I have installed the rear and working on the front. It seems that at one time there was a fitment problem with one of the front side brackets fitting around a charcoal canister. The box I received actually had FOUR side brackets, two each with different bends so perhaps they have addressed the issue. I'll find out soon. So far, my experience has been just like CARLTWO's.

Hello, I am a new group member on benzworld.org. I want to buy euro bumpers from bumperAutomobile in Vietnam. The price of 1140 EURO to germany seems ok to me, BUT somebody said he bought bumpers from them and they didn't fit and he to throw them away since the fitting problem couldnt solved by anybody and bumperAutomobile in Vietnam didnt take resposibility for the misfit.
I have some questions: do the bumpers fit, are of good quality (chrom on top and zinc inside) and rubber fittings easy to install and complete? And can i trust bumperAutomobile in Vietnam by paying with paypal and or creditcard? your help is highly appreciated.

I purchased a set from BumperAutomobile last fall and swapped them myself following a separate thread on this site. I am not an Auto Body guy by any means but I was able to complete the job on my own.

You need to be prepared to:

Strip and paint the steel pieces included in the kit.
Paint your new valance panels in the rear of the car.
Drill out one side of the mounting hole on the driver's side rear of your car.
Plug some holes left by current rubber bumper inserts as you won't need them any longer.
Do more "finagling" than I can recall right now!

The thread detailing the full process is here...

I also bought a set from him, the fit is good, not perfect, but not noticable.

Like the other member mentioned, but not only the valance, also the supports - and he will give you a small discount.

You can then spray paint yourself with any good rust proofing primer + black.
