Moved. This does not belong in the for sale section unless it is yours.

There is a thread for posts like this: https://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c1...-ebay-etc.html

Did you go look at the car in person? How can you tell it is a repainted rust bucket?

I thought same thing! It looked pretty good to me. But not at the price.

I think the basic assumption is that any text that comes out of Washington DC is beyond belief.

Having sold a few of these for a buddy, the asking price is beyond reasonable. Maybe there is a paucity of SL in DC and that is why the price is wrong. Around me, this would be lucky to find interest at $5k.

I can not point to any rust, but the garish paint hack would indicate that something quite horrid is being hidden. The interior looks to have hosted multiples of the miles reported. Or maybe some really fat gal and her purse puppy put all the miles on it. The nasty and dirt all over shows nobody took care of the car, because a fan would have spiffed the car up all over in an attempt to garner real value.

Question for the experts on here. I've got an '80 450SL with ACCII - if this is an '80 why does it have the older style controls?

In euro spec, ACC was an option you had to (probably) pay more for. All the US models got this option standard, as with any car company, export models typically get many standard options, unlike an F150 here in the US you have a gazillion options you can choose from.
