Steering Wheel Replacement

So I found a leather wrapped steering wheel for $20.00 today. The price was worth taking a chance it actually might fit my car. I have a 1985 380 SL and the part number on my new steering wheel is 126-464-00-87. Anybody know if this would fit my car? It's in storage right now so not easy to get to.
Thanks,
Frank

Looks like mine. However, my part number is 126 464 00 17 ( I have it off the car) possibly different because I'm RH drive. I'm guessing it will fit.

As an aside, what color Loctite s/be used on the infamous Allen bolt?

Blue unless you never want it to come off. Seriously though you think it will come off then the splines will bresk loose and you'll find it loose in your lap? I'd think you'll be ok giving in a good healthy tightening. Thanks.

Whether it fits or not, $20 bucks is an insane price. Are you sure it wasn't $220 bucks?

Nah, $20.00. The guy said he had some 107 stuff. It was just a little pile of junk over in the corner because he had sold most of it but he had the steering wheel over there. He also had a regular steering wheel you know, one of a kind of chintzy ones that came, at least in my car, all molded in and this one was a leather wrap. I asked him on the off chance how much he would want for one and he said either one would be $20 so what the heck. I always figured that $45,000 car should've had a better steering wheel than the one they came with but go figure.

Not really familiar with the 380SL specifics so does it have an airbag? The one you pictured does not. That may be a consideration...

No airbag so from an earlier car. Guessing before 1986. Just wondering if there is a cross reference out there that shows parts that are essentially the same that will fit different models.
