Like SoonerCPA said at the beginning, I also have bought 107 seat covers from GAHH. Went with Tex, instead of original leather, because I am rough on interiors. Got the Cream Beige, which has multiple colors spread through out the pattern for shading purposes. Got the replacement foam padding kits, as well. Fit great, looks great, comfort great. Just great overall.

As a professional painter, I know you know this nobby, but colors on a computer screen are a lighted image, and can (and often do) look different than the actual material. I actually got reminded of this when I called GAHH and complained about how hard their samples were to see on their website. The nice young lady helped me realize the problem was my 20 year old monitor and not their site.

Looks good Chris - but with Jeff's caveat.

Did not find from their website, but perhaps sample swatch available via phone request.

Six years later my GAHH leather still looks great!

Cheers,

genießen Sie die Fahrt

I'm sure you have factored into your cost equation that you could pickup a set
of later model SL seats that do everything but fart and tapdance for half what recovering would cost.
Save your old seats if your worried about re-sale down the road.

I've pondered many scenarios.

I like the "FREE" 560SL seats I received from Dugald.

I don't mind spending the $ for "new" recovered seats.

I've had The PIG for 12 years and I've done quite a bit of driving.

We both deserve the refurbishment.

And as far as re-sale....LOL...it's a PIG!!

Good advice.

But I am colour "blind".......I can see all the colours but I can't distinguish shades of a colour.

So I need to use Nobette for that.

And making sammiches.

LOL.

You only gave me the seats. You didn't include any "time".

Bought a single driver seat re-upholstery MB Tex from jjproducts. Great fit, exact color match, pattern and grain but my impression is that quality is lower to OEM. The driving side already shows a faded color out of going in/out after a few years whereas the passenger side is original and 100% spotless 30 years.

My only advice is to ask them to send you samples of the material. What you see on the screen is a very rough approximation of what you'll get. The grain, pattern, finish, color, reflections, feel etc... Just ask for samples.

Thanks for the advice. I think that they actually charge $12.00 for a sample!

My very frugal mother used to make area rugs by taping together foot-square carpet samples of various colours and textures. The results were hideous but nearly free.
