Shock Absorbers

I want to change out the shocks on my 1989 560SL. I cant seem to find front and rear shocks from the same manufacture. Is this the case or is there one manufacture that build both?

Just popped on RockAuto to look at numbers. Notes without self leveling suspensions.

Listing B4 as OE replacment

Front: 24005241 {#084398, 1073200230, F4B360524H0} B4 OE Replacement

Rear: 24005111 {Click Info Button for Alternate/OEM Part Numbers

Many on here using Bilstein and loving them.

You might look at KYB too although at least RockAuto is just listing upgraded rears for KYB. Of course, RockAuto is only one source (and maybe not the best who knows). Just happens to be the one I looked at.

Now if you are meaning that you are not finding the same "number" for front and rear then you won't. Different part numbers.

Here are the Mercedes part numbers. Google them.
Rear 126 320 09 31
Front 107 320 02 30
Bilstein and Sachs both make front and rear.

rowdie..have a question for you, and I do respect your opinion....I had both front and rear shocks replaced last week on my '88 560SL at my local stealership...my invoice shows what you found for fronts 107 320 02 30... for rears, my invoice shows 126 326 16 00. I googled both part numbers for the rears...mine, and what you found 126 320 09 31, and both show as part number being correct for a 560SL....could they be year specific ?... I didn't think so, but I'm a bit confused and thought you could explain....thanks.....btw, I don't have current access to EPC to see if there's a difference in PN's for rear shocks '86-'89...

Those are the current part numbers in the EPC.

The EPC does not show part number 126 320 16 00.

The part that I had the question about was 126 326 16 00.....not 126 320 16 00

Oops. Nothing on 126 326 16 00 either. Google says it is valid but no model info.
