1984 280SL Euro trunk mounted antena

Hello all: As the title says I have a 1984 280SL - which had a factory trunk mounted radio antenna . it's partly broken - mount is still there but the antenna part is missing - I haven't seen one pictured on another car... it's right about the same place that a third brake light would be mounted, but it's a radio antenna ...

Anybody have any ideas where I could find a replacement ?

I doubt it is a radio antenna. The radio antenna was mounted on the left rear fender. There was an optional telephone connection on some Euro models and I have no idea where the antenna was mounted.

mine has no hole on the rear fender for an antenna - car had the stock Becker radio so no phone option. the cable that plugs from the back of the radio goes into the mount... I'll take some pictures. Car has original paint - so don't think the antenna hole has been covered over... I'll look again though

Then I have no idea. Never heard of or seen anything remotely similar. Email the Classic Center with VIN and a copy of your title in your name. They can provide the data card and maybe answer your question.
