- how have plastic windows evolved since you replaced yours? Cracks? Marks?

- in your experience, would it be a good idea to go for a progressive top replacement instead of the usual big-bang approach? I mean 1st remove/intall back bow, 2nd B-pillar + mid bow remove + install new one, etc progress back to front one section at a time

You can use the old top for reference, alignement and it.ll be fresh in your mind each section you move onto...

Just an idea.

Thx in advance
A) Windows do seem to get neglected during the decision of what top to purchase. There is a science to that too.

My windows have held up quite well.

B) Hard to do the recommended "dry fit" with the old top still installed.

OEM Part numbers

All the parts one needs for an OEM installation:

WARNING This is all been superseded according to Nobby's official service bulletin see next few post. Do no glue to rails. Cable hold seals tight to rails.

There seams to be no mention of these seals anywhere. I believe this gets glued to both the top and the frame rails. I say that because at one time I went through a touch less car wash with my black car because I assumed a touch less car wash could do no harm. All was going well until the dryer came on. It was probably the scariest moment of my life, as I thought the top was going to get blown right off. The only thing I noticed after the car wash was that the top was no longer attached to the side of the frame and the car has made really bad wind noise ever since. I can only assume it was bonded on before the car wash. But I cant see any evidence of adhesive on the rails of either car.

If so I think it would be best to glue it and let is set up on the frame rails first. There is a notch in the front of the seal, I believe that gets inserted under the front header as shown in the picture.

So with the side seal rails in place I would glue the notch into the front header then glue it down onto the seal retainers and let that glue setup before putting the top on.

Do experiment with this because I am by no means an expert.
Do you guys by chance know the part number to this seal...I restarted my top install and discovered my seals are damaged and I need to get new ones.

I got mine at MB, I believe.

But TOL is not the only supplier....I'm sure there are others that carry the rear cable.
