Nice solution to cruise control hell.

I finally got fed up with a silly vacuum control cruise and installed a digital servo unit from Rostra. It's their universal model 250-1223 and cost around $160. Here is the nice part, it will interface with OEM stalk, VSS sensor and brake light setup. It's a digital unit where you can tap up and down in speed where 1 tap = 1 MPH and it required no vacuum. One programmable self-contained package makes a nice neat install. I installed it in half a day working at a "i'm on vacation pace". No special bracket needed for the cable hook-up as it had a cable end that fit right in the factory bracket.
So-long to the cruise amps and vacuum servo crap.

By the way, test drive was without exception. Works slick as a baby's ass. Anyone wanting to install one, I can save you some time with setting and wire connections.

Cool, sounds good. I hate that they used vacuum for everything, but that's the way it is. Cruise is about the only option I wish I had, but I have enough problems as is.

My dad was telling me about an old buddy who installed and aftermarket cruise control on a mazda. I guess you put magnets on the drive shaft and it reads the speed like one of those bicycle speedometers. Well I guess the magnets eventually loosened up and ding ding ding they flew of on te freeway. A funny story.

Great. I had no idea that they still made aftermarket cruise controls.

I'm certainly not a purist so I wouldn't think twice about installing one on my car and it sounds like a very reasonable option.

Luckily I don't need one... yet.

If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyhow.

My cruise works best once the pain in my right leg turns to numbness.

I know nobby said he drove his car from SC or somewhere 16 hours straight so he knows the pain. The baddest I did was 12hours and man the seats are nice until the lower back starts giving out. The leg is the least of the worries. The only sleep cure I found to work really well was tabacco and my lungs can't handle it no more.

You feeling okay, Nobby?

Overworked, perhaps?

First you just walk right by a setup I give you and everyone else as a great straight-man line, and now you give us lines like this that are just way too easy.

Must be overwork.

Or maybe it's the change in the weather.

Nascar Fan,
Does the digital upgrade use the existing CC control stalk or does the kit come with a replacement. I couldn't tell from their site.

Thanks

You can use the OEM stalk. You just need to map out the wires that go to the old cc amp and butt splice them to the new wiring harness.
