Anti Sway Bars for R107

Addco, a manufacturer of anti sway bars, offered to manufacture heavier than stock front and rear anti sway bars for the R107 chassis. Currently none are in stock and the bars have been discontinued, but Addco will manufacture them if we meet a min order qty of 10 bars per part number.
Here is the link to the website:
http://www.addco.net/aftermarket/catalog/mercedes-benz

I spoke to John in technical service at Addco and he recommends the following:
1. Always change the front and the rear anti sway bar otherwise the handling of the car will be negatively impacted.
2. Min Order of 10 bars with the same part number
3. Delivery will be 3 weeks after receipt of order

-Front sway bar
Part number: 2058 Dia 1 1/8” Price: $138.94 (Discounted price)

-Rear sway bar
Part number: 2043 Dia 7/8” Price: $119.42 (Discounted Price)

How to order:
Post here if you are interested then we coordinate via PM.
Deadline is Jan 31st.

I will buy a set if we can get at least 9 more people interested.

This is excellent, thank you @RLT61 - I'd be in if we can get them by the end of the second week of February (am moving abroad in the third week...). Would we not also need stronger sway bar bushings?

How about you, @Maroon560SL ?

I donít think end of second week of February is going to happen. Addco quoted 3 weeks from date of order and I need to allow some time for people to respond to this group buy.

Here is the link to the bushings and end link section in their catalog.

Put it in your airline carry-on luggage when you return at some point, we will save it for you.

Thanks @rick - I think I might need to collect quite a few miles still before I can get that kind of carry-on allowance!

That is a good price. Anyone know what are the specs on the stock roll bars? I didn't see any info on their site that indicated what the increase in stiffness was.

Is there any difference by year? I have a '72 US 350 and would like to do it for that car but they say 380 on the Addco price list.

If you do the anti-roll bars, do you need to do the shocks as well?

Talked to John at Addco this morning.
1. There are no changes required to the shock absorbers
2. The mounting hardware for the front sway bar is included. The rear bar requires the use of the original mounting hardware.
3. Stiffness increase over stock bar? Didnít have the information readily available. Will get back with me with the information.
4. Addco only made one set of sway bars (part number 2058 for the front and part number 2043 for the rear sway bar) and does not differentiate between the years.

I will stop by my local MB dealer and see if they can help me out if there are differences between the years.
Post 22 in the below thread addresses the front sway bar part numbers over the years.

Stopped at my local MB dealer and was told the following after he checked his computer:
ďMercedes specíd a variety of rear sway bars for the R107 over the years and it appears it was engine size related, however the way they mount is the same on all of them.Ē
Maybe somebody with access to EPC can verify this.
