The Official Texas Thread

It seems Floriduh is requesting that Texass receive equal treatment for their own "home brewed" insanity.

I'll start the ball rolling with this little item.

Texas man kills daughter's boyfriend, runs them over, then kills himself, police say | Fox News

Texas man kills daughter's boyfriend, runs them over, then kills himself, police say

A man left a Texas movie theater and was shot dead by his girlfriend’s father who then ran them both over with his vehicle, drove off and then killed himself, officials said.

Omar Soto, 22, was shot Friday in Arlington. His girlfriend was seriously injured. They were caught by surprise, Fox 4 Dallas reported Saturday.

“Confronted them rather quickly and just asked the boyfriend, ‘Hey, what’s your name?’” Arlington Police Lt. Christopher Cook told the station. “He responded what his name was, and then he shot him multiple times.”

The woman was run over by her father as she tended to Soto in the theater parking lot.

“He actually backed up after the shooting and went around an aisle and deliberately ran over both of them as they were sitting there,” Cook told the station.

Soto and the girlfriend were with a third person who was not injured.

“That's how we were able to get suspect information out so quickly,” Cook said. “She knew it was her father, was able to provide us a vehicle description.”

Two and a half hours later cops found the father’s pickup in another parking lot.

He was inside, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Cook said.

Friends told the station Soto studied architecture at the University of Texas Arlington. He graduated in May.

His brother told Fox 4 that he was planning to get a master’s degree and open his own business.
I find it rather "suspicious" (and extremely "Texan") that the male victim was named but neither the daughter of the father in the case have been "identified." I strongly suspect the father was not a fellow Hispanic.

Alright, let's get this bitch going...

Onion Truck Ironically Catches Fire Near Frying Pan Road

Quote:
Folks in Bushland, Texas, may have been a little teary-eyed on Tuesday because of a very stinky situation.

It seems a truck carrying a load of onions caught fire on I-40 when a tire blew out and sent sparks flying into the semi, Newschannel10.com reports.

The onions in the truck caught on fire and the blaze spilled out on to the highway.

No injuries were reported, but the eastbound lanes of I-40 between Frying Pan Road and Atkinson were closed Tuesday so crews could clean up the rings and things, according to UPI.com.

This is the second onion truck accident in the past 10 days.

When I lived in the DFW area, they were still talking about the murders connected with Fort Worth gazillionaire T Cullen Davis.
I have another faint memory where a person's death, shot twice with a single shot bolt action rifle, was declared a suicide (Fort Worth?), where the otherwise accused former spouse belonged to a prominent local family.
A judge had agreed with the claim that the deceased had loaded a cartridge into a bolt action rifle, held the open end of the barrel against his chest, then shot himself by pulling the trigger with his toe, and that he had done this 'twice' by repeating the process.

Wasn't Woody Harrelson's Dad Charles V a real life hitman and in jail for the murder of a Texas judge?

Looks like your suspicion might have been a wee bit off.

^^ Wow. I'm shocked. I guess that's what life in Texas does to some folks.

If you hang around an asylum long enough, crazy rubs off on you.

Could be.

Been here almost 20 years now and for some reason I still haven’t felt the need to kill any of the boyfriends my daughters have had, nor have I felt the urge to run over my own daughter while I’m at it.
