U.S. authorities have seized a North Korean ship used to sell coal allegedly in violation of international sanctions, the first such move by Justice Department officials as they ratchet up enforcement efforts against the regime in Pyongyang.

Justice Department officials on Thursday confirmed the Wise Honest is approaching U.S. territorial waters, with coordination of the U.S. Marshals and the Coast Guard.

“This sanctions-busting ship is now out of service,” Assistant Attorney General John Demers said in announcing the seizure.

North Korean Defectors Speak Out After MAGA Hat Incident

Quote:
We are familiar with living a life where you cannot express your views, beliefs or values. In North Korea, if you do express opposing views and get caught, torture, execution or concentration camp becomes your fate.

That was and is North Korea and its system. No freedom of expression, continuous fear, man-made starvation, fear of death. The people we are trying to rescue are those who have fled North Korea, and the person you took the hat off and stomped on it, his six-month-old son, six-year-old and nine-year-old daughter and his wife in North Korea were all brutally executed or sent to concentration camps by the brutal North Korean regime.

He does not know all of the things President Trump does, but he is appreciative of the present administration’s stance towards North Korea and its effort for freedom and not compromising with Kim Jong Un in recent Hanoi summit.

While you can express your discomfort towards the MAGA hat, as long as it is done in a peaceful manner, that’s fine with us. But what you did to us was absolute hatred.

We are back in our homeland, but I hope you protect the freedom that was hard-fought, which was not free to your country.

The Pentagon said Thursday that North Korea “flight-tested multiple ballistic missiles” in the second launch of weapons in less than a week.

The Pentagon said in a statement that the missiles were launched from northwestern North Korea Thursday evening local time, and "the missiles flew east from the launch area to distances in excess of 300km (about 186 miles) before impacting in the ocean."

Immediately after the incident, a South Korean military had described the launch as unidentified projectiles, and a South Korean presidential spokesman later said they were suspected of being short-range missiles.

A South Korean military official said that the missiles "were short-range missiles."

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said in an interview with South Korean broadcaster KBS that a ballistic missile test, even if short range, could violate United Nations Security Council resolutions. U.N. sanctions bar North Korea from engaging in any ballistic activity.

Kim Jong Un tells N. Korea military to keep "full-combat posture" after second missile launch in week

Quote:
North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has told his military to maintain a "full-combat posture" as tensions continue to rise with the U.S. His order follows the firing of three missiles Thursday, the second missile launch in a week.

North Korea says the test was part of its regular military training. South Korea claims they may be part of a new weapons system. As North Korean missile tests go, CBS News correspondent Elizabeth Palmer says Thursday's was less a show of force than an attempt to grab attention.

North Korean state media released pictures Friday morning showing a gleeful Kim apparently watching those missile launches -- the second such drill he had observed in five days.

North Korea's state media avoided specifying what the weapons were, but the U.S. military says they were three short-range ballistic missiles.

President Trump said it was not enough to ruin his relationship with Kim Jung Un.

"They were smaller missiles, they're short range missiles," President Trump said. "Nobody's happy about it, but we're taking a good look and we'll see, we'll see. The relationship continues, but we'll see what happens."

While Abe shits bricks because little Kimmy is firing his guns nearby, Trumps pretends it's all play time and it's nothing serious....

Could you imagine how the right would have reacted if Obama would have protected this murderous SOB like Trump has?

I do.

Kim Jong-Un announced at a news conference that North Korea would be sending a man to the sun within ten years! A reporter said – “But the sun is too hot. How can your man land on the sun?” There was a stunned silence. Nobody knew how to react.

Kim Jong-Un quietly answered “We will land at night”.

The gathering and everyone in North Korea watching on television broke into thunderous applause. Back in Washington, Donald Trump and his entourage were watching the news conference. When Trump heard what Kim said, he sneered – “What an idiot. Everybody knows there’s no sun at night.” His cabinet and everyone working in the White House broke into thunderous applause.

(CNN)The US has suspended its effort to retrieve American remains from North Korea, an effort that has long been touted by President Donald Trump as evidence of the success of his first Singapore summit with Kim Jong Un.

The US Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency told CNN that the effort was suspended due to a lack of communication from North Korean officials following the second summit between the two leaders in Hanoi earlier this year.

"DPRK officials have not communicated with DPAA since the Hanoi Summit," Chuck Prichard, a spokesman for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency said.

"As a result, our efforts to communicate with the Korean People's Army regarding the possible resumption of joint recovery operations for 2019 has been suspended," he added.
