Climate change deniers

Abraham et al. show that a paper by ‘sceptics’ Spencer & Braswell is rife with unrealistic assumptions in an overly simple model

It’s hard to find a reputable scientist who denies that human emissions of greenhouse gases are warming the planet and that there will be consequences for human society and the biological health of the planet. There are a few holdouts who, for various reasons, either think humans are not causing warming or that the warming will not have much consequence.

Some members of this vocal minority spend a lot of time trying to convince the public that they are right. They write letters to newspapers, appear in slick movies, give press conferences, promote their views to Congress, and so on. Their high profile gives the public a false sense that there are two relatively equal-sized bodies of experts that cannot agree on climate change; this is not true.

An even smaller subset also tries to publish their views in the scientific literature – the dueling ground for experts. “…the Dwindling Few have had a very poor track record – having papers rebutted time after time after time because of errors they have made. The low quality of their research has caused journal editors resign, and they have wasted the time of their colleagues who have had to publish the rebuttals to their work. “

InB4 BWOT climatologists question the research and conclusions of thousands of scientist with deeply probing questions like.... 'yeah?... how do they know that?'

If Climate Change is a real threat, why are all of our politicians using the issue to line their pockets instead of working towards real solutions like they are doing in Northern Europe?

For example, if the French government pulled the Solyndra, Fisker and etc. Heists, their citizens would be out on the street stringing their politicos up on Telephone poles.

ok ok
we are affecting the climate of the planet in some way. might be MAJOR or MINOR but we are sure to affect it in some manner.
Even if we (the West) restrict our usage of fossil fuels, who will stop China, India Russia or other developing countries.
Either, we ALL sacrifice for the planet or continue as is and let future generations suffer.

and lets not forget the CAP & Trade Scheme....

Economically at least, China India and Russia can no longer be considered as developing countries. On a percentage basis China is actually reducing emissions and is doing more than most western countries combined to do so. The US and Australia for instance are each emitting more carbon tonnes per capita than China.

Is it better to reduce total emissions or per capita emissions?

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.
