Post What To Do With It

I hope you take it to the level of the other rigs pictures, be wary about those way over sized tires tho' .

I tried mightily to buy a 1968 IHC ambulance with this same typ of body, it went from the Army to a junkyard in South Central Los Angeles and apart from the radiator gone missing and rust through over the windshield header, it was perfect .

Speed limit here on Maui averages 45mph with only a few stretches that hit 55mph. My only concern with the big tires is burning off all the meat unnecessarily on the hot roads. With current driveline, it tops out at 58mph max because of gearing. Someone along the line took the stock Tornado 6 cylinder out and put in a 327 sbc. The Borg Warner transmission, transfer case and differentials are still stock. I’d like to keep it that way but would like to get some wheel adaptors made so I can get these 6 on 7.25” bolt pattern split rims off for some common 8 bolt tubeless setup.

Yeah, too bad you couldn’t have saved that rig

Post IHC Ambulance

No;

A closed up and mostly forgotten junkyard in South Central Los Angeles .

Aadlen Brothers has been gone a few years now, they paved it over and store insurance pool cars there now .

I was in the Alameda P-A-P recently and managed to miss any ambulances.....

the Russian owned P-A-P in PO-mona on Mission briefly had a separate Big Rig parts yard, they had a nifty 196? Dodge ambulance I spotted as I was leaving they yard, by the next time I came back a mnth later it was gone, too bad .

I thought Aadlen (Samson auto wrecking) held on to the little yard on (8103 S) Alameda.

Post Sampson Autoparts South Central L.A.

Yes, they did ~ it's a tiny little place with not many cars in it....
