I plan on keeping our 2003 ML350 for as long as possible - plus it's just a teenager at 137k miles.
I really don't want to start one of those internet oil and oil change debates, but before we bought the 2015 ML350, I checked the MB Spec and Mobil 1 0W40 is listed on there. So that's what I plan on using
I also spoke with my Indie and he said Mobil 1 is fine as well, but he just buys his oil from MB even though he suspects it's really just Mobil 1 with a Mercedes label. He says he does this now because it's not that much of a price difference on his end, but I also suspect it's a plus for his customers. The only other thing he suggested was to change the filter every 5k miles as it's a little extra protection if you don't change your oil as frequently.

I can't claim 400K miles, but I traded off my ML320 CDI after 192K. It had a case of the Black Death, but that's not going to affect your gasoline version.
I'm planning to keep my 2015 for many years, and see no reason it won't do that.
Welcome! And post some pictures!

Any High Mileage ML/GLE's Out There? Long Term Reliability
Nice to see another one of our 163 mates over here.
Iím using 0W40 penrite racing oil in mine and keeping the oil change at every 10,000km instead of MBís recommendation of 25k.
The 166 is just a beautiful car, I was driving mine in the pouring rain today and was thinking it is just perfect and I wouldnít change a thing in it. My wife and I have done quite a few road trips in ours and they are a beautiful road trip car. You hop out as fresh as you were when you get in. Iíve done a little over 25,000 km in mine since I got it last October.
I think youíll love it the more you drive it, it took me a good week or so to get use to it after the old Ml55.

New owner of 2015 W166 !!!
Evening folks....just purchased yesterday a 2015 ML350 with 45,000 miles on the clock.
Iridium Silver with Black MB TEX interior. Road trip tomorrow up to Charlotte, N.C. from Atlanta, so it will be a good shakedown....
So far absolutely LOVING it ! Taking a while to get use to the switchgear but it handles superbly and has sooo many bells and whistles !!
I've been a member of the W163 forum since 1999 with my 1999 ML430 that has accumulated 410,000 miles !! To and from Atlanta airport many, many times before I retired. So glad I don't have to do that drive anymore, only when I want to !
Anyway, my W163 is worth nothing due to the mileage. She is still in excellent condition and I could not bring myself to sell her. TOO reliable and safe and damn fun to drive with a great engine. So she is semi-retired.
In my search for another daily driver, I fell in love with the new KIA Telluride ! An absolutely stunning vehicle which is pricey, but you get a lot of bang for your buck and an incredible warranty. Only problem is they are in such high demand, dealers here in the Atlanta are are adding a $5000.00 dealer profit to every one they sell !!! CRAZY, but they are that hot!!!
Well I simply refuse to pay that kind of additional money to a dealer, so I decided to go USED car hunting, and fell upon this gem in a LandRover/Jaguar dealer lot.
Car is absolutely flawless (even the wheels with no curb rash) and beautiful color combo.
Seven speed is just barely turning 2400rpm and gearbox is silky smooth, even when you put your foot into it. Saved a ton of money and, my ,the improvements over the years.
Makes a great stablemate to my ML430. BTW...I attribute the longevity of my W163 to personally doing the oil/filter changes every 10,000 miles and using Mobil One 0W40.
Question....should I stick with this weight of Mobil One or go to something else for the ML350.
Thanks everyone...hopefully she will last as long as Millie, my W163 !!

Yay! Yes, even the base versions have a lot of equipment. Mine's nearly base, with just a few options, but it's plenty well enough equipped. I got a smoking deal on it because of that, too, since it had sat on the dealer's lot for nearly 4 months, an it had sat on the original selling dealer's lot for about 8.
I'm really happy with mine, and plan to keep it for a long time...especially since you can't get new Mercedes diesels in the US any more.

|alpac||Congrat on your new purchase. I myself very recently bought a 2015 with 40k+ miles to replace a w164 and I love the way the w166 drives. Much more refine than the w164. Everything seems to have been put together better in the w166. I too hope to keep the car for a long time.|

We ended up getting a used 2015 ML350 - it's pretty much a base model, but even with that it has all the options my wife needs and wants. Plus the mileage was low at ~33k miles and my goal is to have a car for 10 years. Also, I'm a little worried about the long term reliability of all of the electronic goodies and don't want the car to turn into a pile of e-waste after 100k miles, so a simple model is better at this point. Car is black on black with the black wood trim, so it looks quite sharp (when it's clean).
The only options I wish it had were HID headlights and perhaps Distronic. My wife would like cooled seats of course

I have a 2012 ML350 Bluetec Diesel - bought it 15 months ago with 87K miles - now it has 108K miles.
No issues: had a tranny service at 100K (apparently it missed the on the reg service sked for 70K) and it was starting to shudder slightly when up-shifting under power. That went away with the trans service. Had to replace the lift-gate power shock thingie as opening completely became sporadic. That's about all. Love the car - 600 mile range on a tankful.
