hadam dlafever, Thank you for your prompt reply.

Skylaw, it seems from manual that only 2007 S600 has oil level check from instrument cluster. For S550, you have to go with good old dip stick. See attached PDF of owners manual.

I know my 2007 S550 command was updated by dealer to bring 3D bird eye view on Map etc on Command NAVI, but I am not sure if this update was also applied to Instrument Cluster. I will check it tonight.

Skylaw The owner's manual tells you which models can be checked on the cluster. Check pages 494 and 495 of your '07 manual..

dlafever None that I know of Hadam. The only oil check that I have found on the instrument cluster is the ASSYST Plus check for oil change interval.

hadam Hello All, One quick question, Is there a way to see oil level on instrument cluster? I did not find any menu or secrete menu to see oil level on display.

I have put 8.5 qts oil during oil change, oil dip stick showing correct level, but I just wanted to see if there is way to double check the oil level on instrument cluster.

Any reply will be appreciated.

hadam dlafever and konigstiger. Happy Sunday. Yesterday I was able to perform oil service for first time on my 2007 S-550. All went well. It took me about an hour to perform the service.

My 2007 S-550 took 8.5 quarts, the dip stick was showing between min and max. May be 1/2 quarts was still left in the oil filter housing etc.

All good. I will check the oil level again next weekend, if its come down then I will add the 1/2 quarts. Other wise, all good.

Thank you both (dlafever and konigstiger) for all your excellent support on this forum. You saved me about $400 and saved me from headache you get when are dealing with German shop or dealer.

Shadly1 Oh the timing!!! I have some new air filter elements on their way to me right now and had no idea how to install them.

What's up, Arizona peeps?

hadam konigstiger, thank you so much for the PDF information, I do appreciate the time you spend on this forum to help others.

These PDF are going into my Cloud archives. I was not 100% sure about the drain plug torque, but these PDF information confirmed the 30 Nm.

I really appreciate all the support I have been getting on this forum.

dlafever Great stable of Benz you have there! I've got a similar collection with the S550, E350 and ML320 (we'll see how long this one lasts in the hands of my youngest son. )

hadam dlafever, thank you for your reply. I understand now. I have done engine air filter replacement on my 2009 E-350 W211. My 2009 E-350 has engine M272.

Thank you, I will follow same for my 2007 S-550 W221 that has engine M273.

I am all good, appreciate all your support.

Below some photos of my E-350 and S-550. V6 and V8.
