Dave2302 Hi,

Tyres fitted and balanced, and I managed to do all 4 without scratching / chipping the finish anywhere

Gonna take me a while to get used to the Gunmetal colour ....................

I can't go for a test drive yet as I've only got 10 of the correct length / type of Wheel Bolts, so currently there is only 3 Bolts holding each Front Wheel and 2 Bolts holding each Rear Wheel, I can drive it in and out of the Workshop but I wouldn't take it up the road like that, there is a new set of 20 Wheel Bolts in the post, but they didn't arrive today

I'm going to finish the Bi Xenon's install tomorrow, I have all the proper Plugs and Wiring Connectors from MB arrived yesterday, plus all the new fancy 5000k Bulbs etc, several different makes of H7's to try in the Full Beams and Fogs, see if I can get 'em to look "whiter light" like the Xenons

The Plugs and Wiring Connectors weren't cheap, just under £66 and that's with my discount , but at least it will all be done properly with the correct plugs etc

Dave2302 Hi,

Yes that is the reason I do all my Wheels Satin Black on the Back side.

I knew I'd find a use for the old Door I removed when I built the Workshop Extension, It's angled at around 130 degrees, Wheels are now south facing in the Sun all day since yesterday morning baking nicely

It's early here, so overcast at the minute, but Weather looks good all week, very very shiny yesterday with the Sun on 'em

Got ya! Love the darkness of the Gunmetal. Just the right shade. Also smart painting the inside black. That way you do not see the break dust

tusabes Those look fantastic , I think that color will complement the car nicely . Will give it a very s65 amg type look

Dave2302 I'm disappointed ............................. with the photo's lol, these wheels are done now, last Clear Coat was a real wet one, they are like looking into crystal clear glass, but the shite Samsung Camera doesn't catch 'em in the workshop lighting and the Canon SLR files are too big for t'internetamabob lol I'm gonna leave 'em a week or 2 in the Sun to gas off before fitting the Tyres, waaaaay to soft this next week

Dave2302 Hi,

I managed to get all Wheels in Gunmetal Basecoat yesterday, it was a little dark for my liking so I toned it down with 10% of Brilliant Silver, well happy with the Colour now, I think they will sit well on the Pale Metallic Chalcedon Blau Car

So today I will remove the outer rim edge masking, a quick final polish of the Bare Alloy outer Rim edge and then Clear Coat all 4 today, hopefully have some nice pix by tonight

Last 2 pic's I have just pulled the masking off the rim edge, ready for a final rub around with 800 Scotchbrite, and shoot them with Clear

Stage 3 pics:-

Dave2302 Quick Update ................

The backs of 2 Wheels finished in Satin Black last evening, then taken off the bar at 7:30 am this morning, and Satin Blacked the other pair

I will leave them until tomorrow, and then mask the spoke gaps from behind, flat the runs (which have virtually disappeared now), and (carefully) shoot all 4 with Gunmetal base, 3 coats, and if time allows un mask the outer rim edges, quick buff with 800 pad and 3 coats of Self Etch Clear

If not I'll Clear Coat them Sunday morning
