Thorpilot This small article is in the Winter 2018 issue of the British magazine "Classic Mercedes".
While not an immediate help, there is some movement for a solution in the future!

Let me know how you make out at the CT locksmith. I am in MA and would like another option myself. Cobra locksmith has a couple of NY locations and supposedly can make chipped keys.

Again stop posting misinformation !
My locksmith can make chip keys and chip keyfob remotes for the sl. Iíve had it done . I posted a YouTube video about it.

Itís not just possible in the USA itís possible in India too . Again if you arenít willing to use the several Usa locksmiths posted and do whatís required thatís your problem , but donít keep posting thatís itís not possible -when it is .

dido What i meant is , they dont want to try hard to help the customer.
I had to really sit with the parts manager push him & repeatedly follow up over the phone everyday.

I was eager as i was sitting on my last key.

dido The key i recently received was imported from Germany by the dealership. In my country there is no way one can build mercedes benz keys . Dont be disheartened just push your dealership parts head to help you.

Its the their effort that will get you the key.
