Finally started assembling the red devil... About 80% complete now. Front and rear aprons attached, waiting the for Wurth to cure. Exhaust is back on as well, changing all the metal trim from my faded almost gold color to original dark gray/black from the donor car as well. Installed the Euro headlights, wow what a difference!
Will have to adjust all the gaps to be proper and should be ready for a drive by next weekend...
P.S. This $900 car has come a long way!

Polished and applied ceramic coating to the car, really impressed by the result!
Also, prepped front brembo calipers for powder coating, looking forward to this upgrade from my currwnt 320mm front brakes.

Finally finished installing new regulator and blower. Original blower was fine, but while in there... Minor issue with regulator as documented in my thread. Of course had to repair the hold down clamp. Hard to beat the old coat hanger trick. I can almost guarantee no ones been in there since Hans screwed it together 22 years ago...
Update: Purchase and brand info... Auto Trust platinum (5yr warranty)

Not a today thing, but since I inherited the car and brought it home in early March I replaced all the shocks and mounts, sway bar bushings, front wheel bearings, wheels, 4 calipers with stoptech pads and rotors, rubber brake lines swapped for braided stainless, rusty hard brake line replaced, transmission cooler lines, trans and rear diff changed.new voltage regulator/brush set, Transmission contact plate and connector, flex disks and center bearing. Headlight, reverse, interior and fog light bulbs modernised. New hood emblem(I'm superstitious when it comes to badges) New headliner, hoodpad and seat leather installed. Lumber support installed. New factory floor mats. Added: pa system, alp 5 sensor jammers. Hardwired additional ports for charging with a single always on charger. Quick charge USB ports with voltmeter. Hardwire radar detector. Wiring for module with GPS units, additional fuel gauge, cb radio and scanner. Additional fuel cell and transfer pump. New gas cap. Ac compressor bearing, power steering flush, 18 inch r230 wheels, did a color correction and a heavy helping of ceramic. But other than that I haven't done much to it.
If I ever find a quick easy way to put pictures up via my phone, I'll do so. So as not to upset the purists, the ad ons were done without cutting up factory components except for the ashtray, which I purchased a junk one to cut and packed away the old. The module I made sits on a pillow between the rear seats and can be unplugged and removed, same with the fuel cell.

Drive from Turkey to the UK
Spent a few hours today getting the car ready for the drive from Turkey to the UK ( about 2000 miles). I've had a few niggling problems over the last few weeks and cant find anyone out here who has a STAR diagnostics kit not even main dealer so I'm taking no chances and getting ferries to Italy until I can get to a proper Mercedes Indie in the UK for a total checkout.

Took the car for an 800 mile jaunt up to Crater Lake and back - in 2 days. Car seemed to run flawlessly. Turned 197,000 miles on the way back.
Got 25 mpg on the way back.
